Can t seem to get the checking to work although i can turn on the light with other automations.
Smartthings garage door sensor not working.
Make sure you have the flat larger face of the sensor mounted on the door vertically without the magnetic contact.
Mount the garage door sensor vertically so that when the garage door is vertical it will read closed when horizontal it will read open to mount the multipurpose sensor in the correct orientation.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
It looks like my current garage door opener is failing and as i replace it i would like to get something that works with smartthings.

My hunch is an automation triggers only on a change.
Take take in between the manual open close and then trying to do it with the app.
Set aside the smaller magnet portion of the sensor not needed for sensing garage door status orient the main sensor vertically with.
Not having much luck getting this to work at 10pm i want to check my garage door status and if open turn on a light.
Check the wires ensure they are connected nicely and then open close manually and then check open close from the app.
The problem is sometimes the sensors don t seem to change status from open close.
All the sensors are within 30 40 feet of the hub i have tried repairing the sensors turned off hub for 15 minutes but noting seems to correct this issue.
In looking at the works with smartthings page it seems that there isn t an opener that inherently connects to smartthings as there are only 2 add on devices that connect to it gocontrol and iris.
